Nancy Leonard: PH’s Bet to Miss Tourism Queen International 2016

As one of the top powerhouse countries in beauty pageants, the Philippines is gearing up on a much wider scale as it eyes to maintain its topnotch status in the international pageant arena. And much to the people’s expectations, an opportunity to add to the country’s roster of globally competitive and beautiful Filipinas, a potential top caliber crown-winner was revealed.
Vying for the coveted crown and title of Miss Tourism Queen International (MTQI), Nancy Lee Leonard, a twenty five year old Zamboanguena beauty is set to conquer the global stage as she was recently chosen to represent the country at the MTQI Pageant to be held in When Zhou, China from September 12 to 26.

The Queen of the Philippines Foundation Inc. (QPFI) and La Unica Events Management & Productions, Inc. (LUEMPI) were the organizations behind this exciting feat headed by the newly-appointed MTQI Philippines National Director, Roanne Refrea. “We’re very excited, at the same time, very positive that Nancy will perform well in the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant. Her kind of beauty would definitely stand out among the rest“, Refrea declares.
Leonard, a BS Psychology Major in Guidance And Counseling graduate of Ateneo De Zamboanga University is honored and thankful to the QPFI Organization for giving her the chance to represent the country in an international pageant like MTQI which she shared to be a life-long dream of hers. “I will give my very best to do well at the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant and to give honor to the country by winning the crown. I want to give my full gratitude to Tita Annie Refrea and Ms. Roanne Refrea, and for their words of encouragement, wisdom, guidance, and pieces of advice as I prepare for this pageant“, shares Leonard.

The official send-off party and press conference was held on September 1 at Yatai Ramen Restaurant in Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City. Leonard is scheduled to leave for China on September 12 to join the other eighty (80) contestants from different countries who are also participating in the said pageant.

Much to the anticipations of many Filipino pageant followers, they have high hopes and regards to Leonard as she is no new in joining beauty contests. She was Miss Philippines Earth-Water 2013 and was one of the official candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2015, and a finalist at Century Tuna Superbods search 2015. Leonard is also set to follow the footsteps of the first Filipina Miss Tourism Queen International winner Justine Gabionza, who bagged the crown for the Philippines exactly ten years ago.
