2017 Miss Scuba Intl’l PH Take Its Toll with the New National Director

TAMPA, Florida – Saving Oceans Through Beauty is the global campaign of Miss Scuba International, and there is no other person who could inhibit and promote this campaign in the Philippines but the first Filipina and Asian to wear the coveted international crown, one of the Philippines’ pride, CINDY MADUMMA, Miss Scuba International 2015. With so much passion and dedication towards protection and preservation of marine life and eco-system, Cindy has a new task to perform and that is to choose the next representative of the Philippines in the 2017 Miss Scuba International pageant.

As the new National Director and Franchise Holder, Cindy showed extreme eagerness and excitement as she made the formal announcement during the media launch held at Belmont Hotel Manila on July 12. She embraced the new responsibility by spearheading the start of the search for Miss Scuba Philippines 2017 who will represent the country in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia this coming November.

They are looking for determined Filipina who is passionate for the preservation and protection of Marine Diversity and Resources, and empowered to take a stand on Ocean Justice. Aspiring candidates must be single, female by birth, a citizen or permanent resident of the Philippines, aged between 18 and 28 years old during the International competition, of good moral character, and is at least 5’5” height without heels, in good health condition both mental and physical, and willing to learn Scuba Diving.

Saving Ocean Through Beauty is the core principle of the organization. It upholds not only showcasing physical beauty and the superficiality but also provides the necessity for our candidates to have a heart for our ocean.”, declared Cindy.

Miss Scuba Philippines is a pageant, which has a deep-rooted advocacy that is devoted to protect, preserve and help save our oceans and its biodiversity. It is distinctive from other beauty pageants because it focuses on the importance of the preservation and protection of the Philippine Marine resources.


In partnership with Bauan Divers Sanctuary as the official dive site and diving institution, the winner will go through rigid training on scuba diving, particularly on Open Water certification. Belmont Hotel will be the official residence of the candidates.

The media launch was administered by Kristine Tablazon and hosted by Miss Summer International 2015 Athena Catriz.
