TAMPA, Florida – After almost three years of hiatus in the Philippine pageant scene since it was revived in 2015, the Mr. and Ms. Republic of the Philippines pageant is set to be having its come back early next year. A media launch event was held on November 17 at Cafe Via Mare in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, with selected number of delegates being presented.
Under the same leadership of its CEO Lynette Padolina and Search Chair Romulo Aromin Jr., the pageant activities are scheduled to be starting on the second week of January 2018 which includes a series of events where the candidates will get involved in different activities. The coronation night will be on January 30, 2018 at the hotel ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Manila.
According to its press release, the Mr. and Ms. RP is being re-branded as scholarship pageant, which puts premium on personality and intelligence of its delegates more than good looks.
