Anilag Festival: Laguna’s Mother of all Festivals

Anilag, concocted from the word, “Ani ng Laguna” (Laguna’s Harvest), better known as Anilag Festival that started back 14 years ago, is touted as Mother of all Festivals in the Province of Laguna.
The flamboyant Anilag Festival brought forth recognition and awards in the Province of Laguna as one of the Best Tourism Practices from the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines or ATOP. Now, Anilag Festival is a Hall of Famer in the Provincial Festival category.
Francisco “Gareth” Z. Blanco Jr., is the over-all event director of Anilag Festival 2018, invited print, television and radio media practitioners to a press conference last 19th of February, and officially announced the 2018 Anilag Festival week-long celebration.
March 10 to 17 various programs and activities have been lined-up such as: float parade, street dancing, beauty pageant, fashion show, trade fair, film and photography competition, car and motor show; ditto programs for senior citizens and activities for the LGBT community.
Anilag Festival is a celebration that centered in the Province of Laguna’s good harvest the past years from its abundant resources, rich culture and professional pool of manpower,” Hon. Laguna Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, states matter-of-factly during the press conference.
Anilag Festival 2018 theme: “Sama-sama ang Pamilya sa Masaganang Laguna”.
The capitol town of Laguna (Sta. Cruz) is designated the heart of the week-long festivities.
