Former Star Magic Artist and single mom wins Miss Global Philippines 2018

MANILA, Philippines – Being a single mom is not a hindrance for Mary Eileen Gonzales as she topped the Miss Global 2018 competition held last Saturday, August 4, at Cove Manila.
Aside from the crown, she was also awarded Darling of the Press and Best in Evening Gown.
This is her second time joining the said pageant. The former Star Magic artist was second runner-up in the 2015 edition.
She has one-year old baby son with Johan Santos, Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up 4th Big Placer.
“If you were judging this pageant, what characteristic would you look for when choosing the winner”, her final question.
“If I am going to judge this beauty pageant tonight, I would look for a candidate who’s not only beautiful inside and out but a candidate who has right confidence and right competence to represent our country globally. Someone who has purest heart and someone who can serve the country and empower woman in our country”, Gonzales winning answer.
Completing the runners-up are Cheska Veñas (1st runner-up), Nicle Dichoso (2nd runner-up), Charlene Duran (3rd runner-up) and Alexandra Moraga (4th runner-up).

- Miss Photogenic, Patricia Agapito
- People’s Choice, Krisoli Rosete
- Best in Talent, Sunshine Bantillo
- Best in Cultural Costume, Nicole Shey Dichoso
- Best in Swimsuit, Nicole Shey Dichoso
Gonzales will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Global 2018 international pageant later this year.
Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehman and actor Victor Basa hosted the pageant. Delayed telecast will be shown in GMA-7 on August 19.
