Roni Meneses is Mandaluyong City’s rep for the Ms. Philippines Earth 2021

Michaela Veronica “Roni” Vivas Meneses is the City of Mandaluyong representative and this year’s bet to compete in the annual search for the Miss Philippines Earth 2021 along with the other 65 beauties from all over the archipelago to win for the coveted title.

Roni, as friends and family fondly called her, is a stunning twenty six years old and an alumna of the UP Diliman with a degree in B.S. Clothing Technology. She is the daughter of the Hon. Mayor Vergel Meneses of Bulakan, Bulacan but she grew up a Mandaleno.

During the special Meet & Greet event with the selected members of the media which was held last June 9, 2021 at Alex III Restaurant in Wilson Greenhills, San Juan City to usher her bid for one of the country’s most prestigious and most awaited beauty pageant.

Highlight of the occasion is the awarding of plaque to Meneses from Global Youth Parliament. Roni is a recipient of the Global Youth Award 2021 for her contribution in uplifting the image of the youth, for taking care of the environment and aggressive in response to Covid-19 pandemic.

Her family, friends, relatives, and supporters attended the said event. Her charm of a beauty queen packaged with awesome credentials and platforms made her no doubt fit for the competition.

Roni is also the reigning Miss Mandaluyong 2020, winning her first ever beauty pageant after giving in it to the egging of friends and mustering enough confidence to compete in a swimsuit in public.

She enjoys working out, doing vlogs and spending quality time with her family who has always been the type to travel, but given the pandemic, “we just try to make the most out of our time at home,” she explained when asked about her activities during the hightime of the ECQ.

Ms. Meneses was also a part of her high school basketball varsity team. At 5’6”, Roni plays volleyball and badminton for fitness and fun. She enjoys much sports which runs from her father’s blood who was once a PBA cager and a head coach of JRU’s Heavy Bombers in NCAA. Joining her first national pageant as Miss Philippines Earth – Mandaluyong City.

Roni has chosen environmental vegetarianism as her advocacy. As a candidate of Miss Philippines Earth, Roni firmly believes it is her duty to promote the protection and the preservation of our environment as the core objective of the pageant.

“One of the top pollutants int he world is actually the fashion industry,” said Roni.

“Given my background in Fashion Technology, I can fully educate and encourage people to start supporting slow fashion brands, urging them to recycle and upcycle their clothes and practice a more sustainable lifestyle,” she added.

Miss Philippines Earth is being held on an all-virtual platform for the straight second year now brought about by the pandemic including its preliminary competitions to the grand coronation night. On August 8, Miss Philippines will be livestreamed where reigning Miss Earth Philippines Roxie Baeyens will pass on her title to the new winner.

“I should be crowned as Miss Philippines Earth 2021 because I have the right intentions, values, and heart to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of Miss Philippines Earth in promoting, protecting, and preserving Mother Nature,” Roni replied when asked why she deserved to be crowned as the 21st Miss Philippines Earth.
