The Philippines’ bet to Miss Teen Universe, Kyl
The country’s best at the forthcoming Miss Teen Universe is Kylie Luy who is a 19-year old stunner at a 5’ 10” height. She will be representing the Philippines for the pageant among other countries in Dubai – the United Arab Emirates from February 27 to March 7, 2022. She was handpicked among several possible candidates that were presented to Jewel Lobaton, chairman of Miss Teen Universe -Philippines, and Charlotte Dianco, national director of Miss Teen Universe- Philippines.
“Luy was the best to represent the country with her talent, educational background, height, beauty, and overall presence. She can perform in public since she was once a contestant at ‘The Voice Kids Philippines’ when she was a kid,” Dianco said.
If there is one thing in the segment of the pageant that Luy is excited about is the talent portion. She loves singing, dancing, drawing, reading, and can play piano, guitar, and violin. She recently had a composition with the title “Hey, Mr. Perfect” arranged by a veteran Rannie Raymundo and recorded at the studio of another veteran composer and musical director Vehnee Saturno.
Luy was raised in London and finished high school at the International School Manila and is an incoming freshman in a fashion design school in Paris this September. She is the only child of Joecel and Malou Luy of Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.
A special press conference cum send-off party was prepared and organized for her by the people behind Miss Teen Universe Philippines Organization. The event was held at the Grand Ballroom of Diamond Hotel Manila along Roxas Blvd last February 15, 2022, hosted by Mr. Lance Raymundo.
Luy was raised in London and finished high school at the International School Manila and is an incoming freshman in a fashion design school in Paris this September.
“I actually did see a live beauty pageant two years ago before the pandemic. I was able to watch the question and answer. I think watching it is different from being in it. When you’re standing there, it might be a little difficult,” she said.
Luy’s biggest dream is to inspire her generation: “I want people to see me as someone they can relate to as well as someone that can help them bring confidence to themselves.”
